For anyone interested in Bible translation, this is a great opportunity to learn what it’s about from the people who’ve been there already, Wycliffe Bible Translators.
The event runs from December 30th 2013 through January 3 2014 in Spring City, PA. If you want more information, you can find details at their website here. An identical event will be occurring in Kent, Washington for those of you on the west coast, and it is held throughout the year at various locations. Please check the website for more details.
The experience includes an introduction to the process of language codification and translation so the students can get a real feel for what the overall process is like. I will be teaching a course on grammar during the Spring City, PA seminar.
In addition to learning what it means to be a translator, you get to meet other like-minded people who share the same passion. This has resulted in more than a few life-long friendships!
Even if this isn’t for you, please consider those you know who may be interested in this, and pass it along!
