Blog Series Ending

Doesn’t it seem like the world has turned upside down this year? It certainly feels that way to me. Since the start of 2020, which began with Australian brush fires raging, a US drone killed an Iranian general and the Iranians struck back with missiles at an American base in Iraq. In the process the Iranians shot down a passenger airliner killing 176 civilians and, that same day, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Megan, announced they would “step back” from the royal family. Finally, the UK formally left the European Union, and, in case you forgot, the US Senate acquitted President Trump on both impeachment charges.covid

Now take a deep breath and…Coronavirus!

I have one more piece of news to add, and this one’s personal.

For the past year I have been working on a blog series dealing with current events in Bible translation. As a retired member of Wycliffe Bible Translators, I felt my voice could be used to shed light on the current state of Bible translation. I have received many positive comments from those of you who can see the issues I talked about, or who thanked me for making them aware of these problems. Thank you so much for all your kind words.

Sadly, I won’t be finishing that blog series. My strong links to the Wycliffe family, both Wycliffe Bible Translators and the now-independent and unaffiliated organization Wycliffe Associates, have caused an unexpected complication.

On a completely unrelated note, if you’d like to know how my daughter, Dietlinde, is doing – my oldest, who doesn’t have any such ties  – please take a look at her new blog and facebook page here. 😉

I won’t share a picture of me here as I look scruffy and haven’t had a hair cut in a long while. I have been self-distancing and working on my next book about the puzzles of life. Too bad I didn’t have it done before this Coronavirus puzzle came along.

sorry for these complications. I can only imagine what they are. It is so sad to see how the world is going and that Satan is using what little time he has. It is so sad to see good people turn to worldly ideas. We know dear lady that you have fought a good fight as a faithful servant. I love you and praise God for you. Praise the Lord who is still in control and his plans will be fulfilled!
I am enjoying your daughter’s blog.
    Blessings sweet friend
